Marketing messages through SMS and Email

We first start by creating a template for both Email and SMS. The template being the actual message you would like to send out to your customers through Timma.

Start by navigating to the upper purple row and click on More > Marketing.

Once on this page, you will have additional ‘tabs’ or pages for Email templates, SMS templates, Target Groups, History and Settings.

Creating an email-template

Click on ‘Create new’ and a window will appear.

Write your unique Template name and click on ‘Okay’ to create your template.

(Note: Template names are only for internal use, and won’t show up for your customers

This is so that you can keep track of which template you’re working on).

Below is a step by step explanation of the different rows you can fill out, and also on the right hand side is a preview of your current Email template.

1. Template name: The current name for the template.

2. Subject: This will be the subject for the Email and also the first thing your customers will see in their inbox!

3. Title: As we can see on the right hand side, it’s the Title; the first text in the Email.

4. Message: As shown on the preview to the right, message would be the box you write your message in. The preview will also update in realtime and show you what the Email will look like.

5. Link: The URL-link connected to the Button (6.) in the Email. By default the URL provided is linked to your personal online booking.

6. Link Text: The text that the button will display. As an example you can have it as ‘Book a time’, ‘Book now’, etc.

7. Greeting: Your personal greeting; for instance, ‘Kind regards’, or simply ‘Greetings from’.

8. Sender: Your signature. You can write your company name or your given name to make it more personal.

Upload picture: You are able to upload one image to the Email template and send it to your customers.

Creating a SMS template

The same principle is applied to creating an SMS template with similar steps.

The difference being a SMS can contain up to 160 characters and exceeding the limit will add another SMS.

Example of a SMS template:

Creating a target group

Next up is creating a Target Group.

We start by navigating to the Target Group Page.

As with Email & SMS template, we create a new Target Group and set a unique name for our Target Group.

Select which customers you want to send the SMS/mail marketing to by filtering by date, previous appointment, all customers etc.

For example: all customers that had a Lash extensions treatment within the last 6 months.

Click save when you are happy with your target group.

You will get the number of how many recipients on the right side.

This will only include the customers who have approved receiving SMS/mail marketing.

Finally, we have what we need and we can now send a message!

--------

Go to Send Message.

Choose how you want the message to be sent – for example SMS primarily and Email secondarily, or Email primarily and SMS secondarily,

The message will then be sent as a SMS to those who have a phone number in their customer card, and as an Email to those who does not have a phone number in their customer card but has an Email address in their customer card.

Choose your SMS/Email template and Target Group.

You will see an estimate for the cost of sending SMS; marketing through Email is free of charge.

Click send message when you are happy with your settings.

The message will then be sent out to the chosen target group.

Under History you will have a log over sent campaigns:

How to send Email marketing with your own domain

Go to More > Marketing > Settings.

First step is to check the box ‘Use own domains for emails’ and secondly write your website domain name without www. & https:// As shown in the example above, (mywebsite.com).

After these two parts are filled out we can proceed to save, and the second part on the right hand side in the picture above will show up.

Clicking on ‘Verification instructions’ a new window will pop-up with instructions on how to connect your domain to the Email tool in Timma.

Simply ‘Copy Data’ and send it to your administrator for your domain and ask them to add it.

If you do not have an administrator and are unsure of how to do this step, contact Timma support and we will more than gladly help you!

After the set-up and verification is completed, (it usually takes a day or two for the domain servers to update properly), the verification process will be completed and the domain will display ‘Verified’ instead of ‘Not verified’.

You are now all set up for sending Email marketing through your own domain!
